Through the first part of the season, the "regular season" from August through May, players earn points in each event they play. The number of points for winning each tournament varies from 125 to 500, depending on the format for each event, with the typical individual tournament awarding the highest points. Fewer points are awarded to other players who finish each tournament, based on their final position.
The goal is to be among the top 12 points leaders following the final event of the regular season. Only those players who are regular full-time members of the TMT Golf Club can earn points. A non-member who joins the TMT Golf Club in mid-season is eligible to earn points in the first event he/she plays after officially joining the Tour.
At the end of the regular season (May Event), the top 12 in TMT points are in the playoff for the TMT CUP Championship. The June 2 day event will make up the playoff rounds for these 12, while all other members who have participated in at least 3 regular season events will be eligible to compete for the Club Championship. The number of points awarded for each playoff event is doubled that awarded for a typical regular season tournament. Points won in playoff events are added to those for the regular season, and the fields are reduced as the playoffs proceed. Top 12 in points all compete in day 1 event for TMT CUP, which is reduced to the Top 6 for the final day. There will be 2 separate winner for the 2 day combined Club Championship as well as the TMT Cup Champion determined after these playoff days.
Points Distribution
Only golfers who actually tee off for an event will receive points for that event. All golfers will receive “Participant Points” for starting an event. Additional points will be earned based upon the finish of each event as laid out below.
In case of a tie, a scorecard tie-breaker will be used only to determine first place. For all other places, the point totals are added together and divided among all golfers tied for a particular position at the end of a tournament. For example, if four golfers finish tied for fifth place, the fifth through eighth place points are summed and divided by four, with each of the golfers receiving the same number of points.
